Pc World Laptop Insurance
PC World laptop insurance is a service which goes under the trademark name of ‘Whatever Happens’ and is described on the PC world website a comprehensive after care service for products over 150GBP.
There were two levels of cover available at the time this article was published [Dec 11] and they are:
- WHATEVER HAPPENS
And
- WHATEVERHAPPENS PLUS
It seems with the plus version you can book a two hour repair slot for computers and it has a maximum repair time of 7 days, rather than a painful 21 days with their standard cover. Also, there is the added benefit of extended collection of 5 hours by courier if needed.
As with any insurance policy it is advisable to read the terms and conditions first, so you are fully aware of what exclusions may apply. This is even more so important with this product, as it has been named as WHATEVER HAPPENS.
The name may ring your alarm bells straight away, but even more so when you then notice there are two levels of WHATEVER HAPPENS products for sale. That could tell you straight away that the cheaper version of cover will not be as good as its more expensive partner.
A quick read of the ‘What is not included’ section of the pc worlds webpage will soon confirm this for you. I will not list them here as they may change from the time of writing this, but you can check them out for yourself.
When it comes to laptop insurance you may want to make sure that you are receiving a true insurance policy as opposed to an extended warranty, but on the same not you may want to confirm that your laptop insurance covers your for essential items such as theft.
